IN MEMORIAM
María Teresa Morgan
1947-2025

Dr. Maria Teresa Morgan was Associate Professor of Theology and Coordinator of the Humanities Program at St John Vianney College Seminary in Miami.  She obtained her BA in Religious Studies and MA in Theology from St. John’s University in New York and her Doctorate in Divinity from Barry College in Miami.  Dr. Morgan taught and published across a broad field of theological and pastoral topics.  Her areas of interest and research included: Vatican II theology, feminist theologians and theological aesthetics.   Most especially, she nurtured a keen and life-long interest in the works of the Spanish mystics, especially St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross.

She was a contributor to El Ignaciano and a member of its editorial board.  Her contributions, both as a writer and as a member of the editorial board, were priceless.  She will be dearly missed both at the magazine and at St. John Vianney College Seminary.

Maria Teresa was a woman of deep faith and strong conviction. In all the years I knew her, I found her to be a woman who faced adversities with courage and confidence.  She responded to injustice and harsh treatment with faith, hope and love.  Now, she sees face-to-face what she believed and has all for which she ever hoped.  Now, faith and hope are unnecessary; now, all dissolves in love.  Now, she rests in the arms of Jesus and her Beloved Bob, who preceded her into eternal life.  Grant her eternal rest, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her.  May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
